Toppenish Community Chest
We use the grant to extend our freezer capacity and make repairs. Now that our food distributors have increased their donation to include more fresh and frozen items, we needed more space to be able to store those items.
Originally we were planning to buy a new freezer but after carefully consideration and checking prices, we realized that to repair the one we have and increase its capacity was a better use of the grant.
We bought a new, more efficient stove to be use in our soup kitchen, and the repairs made to our freezer increased our capacity to store for food and made it more efficient. Both the repairs to the freezer and the new stove have helped with the utilities too; they are not using as much electricity as before.
